A show to rethink culpability
Alfonso Cuarón
This TV Series is a great playwriting touching our emotions with a mix between suspense and some level of erotic step-by-step disclosure which becomes the unveiling morbid outlining scope of a crime. The most impactful aspect of this show is how slowly you get hooked by the plot and automatically make judgments about how the characters are acting in the drama.
Actors are very competent and all seven chapters are made with brilliant interpretation. With several interventions of acting inside the acting (meaning the characters in certain situations can act, performing a character themselves) the story unfolds softly with many surprising components.
I truly recommend this TV series specially for those who want to reflect a little about prejudgment and the dualistic idea of good and bad. Sometimes people can be good and bad and the black and white moral notion in real life might be blurred by the complexity of human existence.
Reflecting about the narrative content made me rethink the idea of culpability and how we as legal professionals are handling legal cases, lawsuits and providing daily judgements and decisions about how other people are interacting in society. Sometimes jumping into conclusions can generate injustice and unfairness, nuance is part of human interaction and empathy is what makes civilization.
