Senna
An Unstoppable Discipline
Vicente Amorim & Julia Rezende
The 6 episodes TV Series about the brazilian idol of the formula 1 is astonishing, showing details about personal and professional life of Ayrton Senna, one of the greatest F1 pilots.
The playwriting makes us move from calling Senna as a young child to late teenager times where indeed he discovers his passion racing karts first and then ending up in F1 racing cars. Each episode includes an important career move of the Brazilian hero and how he became an international star and the best-paid pilot of his time.
An a brazilian outlier in the elite sport, the details about his obstacles and other political forces that were willing to stop Senna from being a champion made me think not only about my own brazilian and outlier status in international law but even beyond that how politics is present everywhere (even in the sports arena) and the correlation of power can be detrimental to the best talents.
Conclusion
Senna is worth watching as a biographical drama. The narrative leads us to the final episode called "Time” where the well-known car crash killed the most famous Brazilian pilot of all times.
